Abstract: Devices as passive
compression bandages and support dressing or active massage devices, gradient systems, pressure suits for
pilots and astronauts (cuffs, sleeve, pressure suits) made of the memory fabric
are being presented here.
These devises are produced from a flate
composite fabric patented by our company. The flat composite fabric comprising a
flat fabric and wires which are permanently incorporated therein and which are
made of an alloy possessing shape memory properties (memory fabric).
These devices can be applicated in the medicine, aeronautic and space technology. A one of this
application - massage device - is especially suitable for the fitness aims
at home.
The memory fabric is very soft at the room temperature and can be easy
tensed. At the heating the memory fabric contracts and press on the body. The
compression force and compression deformation of the memory fabric can be
optimize between 50% and 250% inelastic deformation.
